About Me

For me, photography is not just a profession - it’s a way of life. Ever since I borrowed my father’s camera and developed the images in our bathroom darkroom, I began to see things differently. Behind the lens, I’m able to capture moments I could never describe in words. Photography is about taking a closer look and telling a story. I find that I simply see more when I am behind the lens.

I have been documenting the world around me for more than a decade; it’s my passion.  I love what I do. I am only satisfied when I have told the story eloquently, with truth, beauty, and dignity.

While you can't freeze time or memories, there are some moments and some stories that cry out to be preserved. In my humble opinion, the best way to do that is with a series of photographs that tell a story that words simply can’t. I would love to tell your story.

From that first time I saw my images appear in the developer, I have been eager to learn. I grew up on the coast of Maine assisting my father at his photography studio, Bob Noonan Photography.

After winning several awards from the Maine Professional Photographers Association, I furthered my education by attending a college prep program at Rhode Island School of Design for both Photography and Graphic Design.  I earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of the Arts and later went on to complete the graduate studies Documentary Photography Program at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

The past several years have been spent working with photographers in the Philadelphia, New York and Portland metropolitan areas. I saw every role - from photo editor to archivist - as a unique chance to learn and grow.  For several years I worked retouching and designing wedding albums for a top wedding photographer in New York whose work was featured Vanity Fair and Martha Stewart. Each piece of my photographic experience has informed my work and shaped me as a photographer.

Now I’ve brought my experience and talents back to my home state and opened my studio here in Portland, Maine. I am thrilled to be able to document so many special moments in this beautiful area!
